Marco Polo, the Bird Song Version

A couple of weeks ago, when we were studying Marco Polo, I taught my students an indoor version of the game Marco Polo. (Note: It doesn't really work as an indoor game; that day it was obvious we needed some sort of gross motor activity before the next table activity and it's what I could come up with on short notice.) The game has since enjoyed popularity amongst the group. One student raised it to a new level however. Using his bird song book/player, he asked his friends to respond to a given bird call with the mate's call. So for the next while, the park was filled with the calls of the common loon.

  1. you are a super fun teacher, and we have enjoyed the game of Marco Polo in the backyard.:) I'm impressed with what they know about the man too. I grew up only knowing the name as a pool game! (not proud, just stating the fact) :)
