Samuel is well adored by all. He gets lots of petting from his siblings and his sister loves to label his body parts, particularly his eyes (poor guy!).
Samuel decided to solidify his position as our grumpiest baby by spending the month wanting to be held all the time and exclusively by mom. I love, love, love newborn snuggles, but it was a bit of a rough month (plus thrown in going back to work and a 5 day business trip for Dustin).
He's a great nurser and prefers to spend all of his naps in mama's arms. Awake, he has a 2-5 minute tolerance for being away from mom and asleep he has a 30 minute tolerance. But occasionally, he'll let a brother or a black-and-white book entertain him.
He likes being out and about since that means getting to hang out in the beloved sling. From the security of being attached to mom, he quietly takes in the world. (Also, Samuel is a surprisingly good car traveler.)
He learned to smile -- sparingly. But he became more generous by the end of the month. Josiah faithfully counted each smile and upon request can give an imitation of each of Samuel's three smiles.
Samuel turned 2 months on Easter! We dearly love our disgruntled baby!
