March Field Trip: USS Iowa
When my grandparents were out in March, we headed out to explore the USS Iowa docked at Long Beach. The boys absolutely loved it! Guns and missiles have factored heavily into all subsequent play, especially with tinker toys and blocks. Almost three months later, the pamphlets from the trip still travel with us in the car on occasion.
If you are in the area, it's a neat ship to tour!

March Snapshots
I'll pretend like I'll someday catch-up (Paris, Josiah's Birthday, etc.), so here are some snapshots from back in March:
Playdough with trucks and trains, of course |
Bath tub fingerpainting |
Josiah's first representational painting: Train Tracks! |
Puzzle time! |

Wagon ride at Tanaka Farms |
More reading and listening: "Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel" |
Bee Swarm at the park: The worker bees are protecting the queen while the scouts look for a new hive |
Knott's Berry Farm train (Elijah's reading the map) |
Re-enacting the show we watched at Knott's Berry Farm |
Reading with babies |
Puppet Show Time! |
Lots of various tents were built |
Josiah loved going outside to spend a bit of time painting; here he is painting a door |
